The Ragamuffin Gospel by Brendan Manning

Synopsis:
A Christian how-to book focused on understanding God’s grace & freeing yourself from the tyranny of legalism.

Review:
It’s amazing how much reading you can get done on jury duty. I can see why so many people have appreciated Manning’s book, but for me it just doesn’t go deep enough, the way books by Henri Nouwen or Dan Allender do. It’s a nice message, a refreshing message, but not exactly one that inspires me to change my life. I don’t think I’m really in a place in my life where I need this particular message, so maybe that’s why I didn’t fall in love with this book. (I’ve got other problems, don’t worry.)
