Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers

Synopsis:
1850s California Gold Rush. God tells a good man to marry a prostitute and teach her the true meaning of unconditional love–if she’ll only stick around to learn it.

Review:
Well-structured with a good sense of motion, this retelling of the Biblical story of Hosea and Gomer is way sexier than most Christian fiction, while still keeping core evangelical Christian values. The writing is largely on-the-nose, but the writer does do a good job of conveying the desperation that keep a woman working the streets even though she could leave. There was a weird subplot involving the redemption of one of the men Angel sleeps with that didn’t sit well with me, because I didn’t buy that he was the kind of man who could ever treat a woman well.

  1. this book is absolutely life changing.
this is my all time favorite book.
they NEEED to make this into a movie
I would watch that a million times

this book is BETTER than the twilight series.
I know, I’ve read those too

  2. I disagree about the subplot. A person who is already doing great things doesn’t need the redemption he got. To me it shows that anyone can change if they want to.

  3. I totaly aggree with ashleigh!!! I read Redeeming Love about 4 years ago and it was life changing! I do believe it is the best book that I have ever read or probably will ever read! I have recently read all the twilight books and althought they were very good books, I would have to agree that Reedeming Love is better! I just finished it for a second time. It brings glory the the Father in all aspects! Throughout the whole book in the romance and all God is glorified. For those of you who do not understand what I mean, pay attention to where your thoughts lead you while you read this book verses were they tend to go in other romance novels. Find the author of your salvation! I pray God’s unfailing love to all who read this, and yes I wish they would make it into a movie too!!!!!!!!
