Do visit Booking Through Thursday and check out all the great responses to this week’s meme.
Are you a Goldilocks kind of reader?
Do you need the light just right, the background noise just so loud but not too loud, the chair just right, the distractions at a minimum?
Or can you open a book at any time and dip right in, whether it’s for twenty seconds, while waiting for the kettle to boil, or indefinitely, like while waiting interminably at the hospital–as long as the book is open in front of your nose, you’re happy to read?
I am SO not Goldilocks. I can read under any circumstances (except in a moving car). Give me more than a 2 minute wait & watch me whip out my book to pass the time.
I read standing up, I read in bed, I read while we watch the Mets, I read in line at the post office, I read waiting in the car while my husband buys stuff for his business off of Craigslist, I read before the movie starts, I read while stirring chicken broth into risotto.
We’re two of a kind on this one!!
Make that three. I can’t read when travelling, but then as I can’t travel unless I’m driving that’s probably as well! Anywhere else just open that book.
I’m the same way. I’m always been teased, even chastised for it. I was banned from reading at the dinner table as a child. But it’s not like we were talking about anything! My BTT is up.
I’m noticing there are a lot of us that can read anytime, anyplace! Guess that’s what makes us true Bibliophiles!!
(By the way, doesn’t The Mist look fab?? It is still one of my favorite King short stories/novellas!)
I read before a movie starts too sometimes–and standing up. 🙂
I’ve never read while cooking but would making risotto. I hear that dish can take a while. Happy BTT.
So many kindred spirits! I love BTT!
Add “read while walking” to the last para for me, please 😀
I used to get in so much trouble for that when I was a little girl…
Oh well, know any kid who really listened to parents?
Thanks to audiobooks, I can now “read” even while driving! Now even a quick trip to the grocery store is fun, and I positively look forward to long road-trips.
Such a great invention!
