Giveaway–The Lonely Hearts Club

I’m pleased to announce that the kind folks at Point have offered this blog 3 copies of The Lonely Hearts Club by Elizabeth Eulberg!

To enter, please leave a comment below by 11:59 EST on Monday, January 25th. One entry per person–but get a second entry by blogging about this giveaway and leaving a trackback to this post. Winners will be selected at random. Open to US residents only.

About the book:

Penny is sick of boys and sick of dating, so she vows: No more. She’s had one too many bad dates, and has been hurt by one too many bad boys. It’s a personal choice…and soon everybody wants to know about it. It seems that Penny’s not the only girl who’s tired of the way girls change themselves (most of the time for the worse) in order to get their guys…or the way their guys don’t really care about them. Girls are soon thronging to The Lonely Hearts Club (named after Sgt. Pepper’s band), and Penny finds herself near legendary for her non-dating ways – which is too bad, since the leader of The Lonely Hearts Club has found a certain boy she can’t help but like…

Win a Copy of Catching Fire!

The kind folks at Scholastic are offering THREE of my lucky readers a fabulous prize package to celebrate the release of Catching Fire, Suzanne Collins’s sequel to the awesome dystopian adventure Hunger Games.

I am so excited about Catching Fire and will be posting my review in the next few days. I love good dystopian YA, especially with such a strong female character as Katniss Everdeen. I’m really hoping for more developments with her conflicted feelings about Peeta, and greater development of the mythology of her society.

Three (3) lucky winners will receive:

  1. very limited edition promotional T-shirt (
  2. collectible mocking jay pin
  3. copy of Catching Fire

About the book:

Having just passed the ultimate test of survival—the Hunger Games—sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark defied the Capitol and their harsh rules. But even as both won their families a life of safety, now the Capitol wants revenge. Despite her feelings for Gale Hawthorne, Katniss must showcase her love for Peeta on a cruel Victory Tour, and the stakes are higher than ever. Rumors of unrest are spreading quickly, and to Katniss and Peeta’s shock, they’ve become the face of a dangerous rebellion. But how will they be able to take on the Capitol and protect their families? In Catching Fire, the second installment of the Hunger Games, only one thing is certain: sparks will fly!

Check out the official website here, and read the first chapter here. And check out this awesome trailer!
