I read Vanity Fair and it wasn't my favorite. I remember I read Middlemarch shortly thereafter & LOVED it, and for some reason the 2 books are now welded together in my mind.

After hearing so many good things about Mists of Avalon from people whose opinions I value highly, I tried. Oh, how I tried. Just could not get into it. I finally quit reading it.

My other bete noir is Vanity Fair. I've tried several times to read it, and finally just quit trying. I liked the Reese Witherspoon movie just fine (don't know how close to the story it is and don't really care). Heaven help me if I'm ever forced to read it should I ever decide to go to grad school!

I couldn't remember if I'd read Gullivers Travels . . . One minute I think I might have and the next I have my doubts. Oh well. I haven't always kept track of the books I read and I doubt I remember them all.
