I like the idea of the love story woven in. I read a book recently, "Landmark Status," which isn't a thriller my any means, but is a comedic mystery with humor and social commentary thrown in, which you might enjoy. It's another example of a book that kind of weaves in a love story. Benjy and Delia are in the middle of a real estate fraud/investment scheme and have a great wisecracking courtship in the middle of utter chaos.
