August Round Up–Top 5 Most Popular Posts

An odd month at Reading is my Superpower. I feel like I was all over the place with my reading, and I had a high percentage of books that made me go “meh.”

However, August was also the month of the Best. Comments. Ever. on Reading is my Superpower! If you don’t know what’s going on over at George RR Martin Defends Genre, you really ought to check out the comments thread for a thoughtful dissection of whether or not genre fiction can hold its own with so-called literary fiction, in terms of significance and lasting resonance, thanks to some intelligent and well-spoken commenters like Christopher, Sensawunda, Brad, and Imani. Thanks, guys!

The most popular posts this month were:

  • Surviving the Dog Days: Bookworm Carnival #2
  • Grub by Elise Blackwell
  • The Night Tourist by Katherine Marsh
  • Last Night in Paradise by Katie Roiphe
  • The Raw Shark Texts by Steven Hall
  • You can view the most popular posts in any month by going to All The Books So Far and selecting a month. A list of popular posts will appear in the middle column, right underneath my little Bill Cosby story. Clicking on any of the categories in the right hand column will also show you the most popular posts in each column.

    1. I feel like I’m in a bit of a reading rut right now too. Hitting a few too many “meh” books and slowing down to a snail’s pace. Hope September looks up!
