2 Kinds of Readers

My work read tonight wasn’t great, but at least it was quick.

The two readers in the title of this post are me and one of you. So, with permission, I’m sharing this lovely email I received from TG in Ireland:

Thank you so much for your posts and for sharing your devotion to reading with us! Reading your posts everyday has re-aligned my own passion for reading, and now I’m experiencing so much more joy from it! It’s great to get reviews from someone who has their head screwed on right, and I go away from your blog feeling revitalized and ready to go on my own literary adventures! I now get my half-an-hour of reading done everyday, and many of your reviewed books are now on my wishlist! Thank you very much, and keep up the great work!

TG, I feel the same way about the litblogs I read every day–I subscribe to the feeds of all the blogs listed in my sidebar, and I’m always getting recommendations from them. In fact, I just received Ghost Rider by John Harwood today (thanks, Bookmooch) which I picked up from a rave on A Striped Armchair. I just love other readers, you know?

And here are my quiz results for “What Kind of Reader Are You?”

What Kind of Reader Are You?

Your Result: Dedicated Reader

You are always trying to find the time to get back to your book. You are convinced that the world would be a much better place if only everyone read more.

Obsessive-Compulsive Bookworm
Literate Good Citizen
Book Snob
Fad Reader
Non-Reader

You can’t see it from this chart, because the code isn’t reproducing the colors, but I’m all lit up on “obsessive-compulsive bookworm” and have healthy amounts of “literate good citizen” and “book snob.” No surprises here.

  1. Assuming you meant Ghost Writer. 😉 I hope that you love it as much as I did!

I haven’t been able to visit my blogroll much lately, since I’ve been sick, and I definitely missed everyone’s posts. Gotta love the internet!
